    Subject: Letter in Support of Casa Esperanza Transitional Home for Women & Children

    Dear Ms. Gale – I am writing in support of the Conditional Use Permit for Casa Esperanza Transitional Home for Women & Children proposed to be located at 1421 Panorama Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93305.

    Casa Esperanza provides a holistic program that will serve one of the most vulnerable segments of Bakersfield’s homeless population; women and children. It will be complementary to existing efforts to alleviate homelessness and holds the promise of breaking the cycle of homelessness for families. Casa Esperanza is a home, not a shelter or rehab facility. A home belongs in a residential setting.

    Bakersfield needs the services of Casa Esperanza. We support the grant of a CUP for the proposed location in a residential neighborhood.
